High school senior, Jade, hired FocusTree to take a few senior photos, as well as a few glamour shots for her personal use. After we captured the school photos based on their requirements, it was time to have some fun. Jade hopped in front of the camera with glamour and style like a model on a mission. :o) Lights! Camera! Action!

Photographing Anna & Bob
I swear my friend Anna could have been a model back in her hometown of Russia, but she denies it everytime I ask her. One day, Anna asked if I would photograph her and her son, Robert, before her upcoming birthday. How could I refuse? Both Anna and Bob are very photogenic, which makes my job so much easier. We started with a few posed photos of each, and then went to candids. Bob was very much at ease with the camera pointing at him. I think modeling does run in their family, despite what Anna says. :o) Thanks Anna for a great photo session!

Photographing Stacey
Stacey is a young woman whom I photographed last year for her school's senior photo. Her parents asked if I would photograph her once again before she left for prom. I was honored to be asked. Stacey's cool about being photographed, and she knows how to "strike a pose" without much direction. After our shoot, her younger sister joined-in on the fun. One day I'll have to get the whole family down for a photo session. Good luck in college, Stacey.

Teen Portraits
Here are a few portraits I did at a recent photography workshop. The workshop was designed to give photographers a chance to work with ordinary teens (not models) in a non-studio environment. The lighting conditions varied from spot to spot, so we had to get creative with the limited resources we had. Jen and Dustin (siblings) not only braved the cold for us, they also braved each other - well, until the last few frames that is. :o)

Photographing Buck
Last Saturday I spent a couple hours photographing my co-worker's 2-yr. old son, Buck. We had our photoshoot at this really cool park in Stapleton the day after it snowed. There weren't many kids at the park, so Buck pretty much had his playground options wide-open. As he hopped from section to section at the park, I threw in a couple posing ideas for variety and "cuteness". After an hour at the park, we headed to Buck's home so that he could show me his favorite toys.
As I walked into his room, I was struck by the vibrant green walls and white trim. "This is going to be great," I thought. Not only did Buck show me a number of his toys, he also pulled-out his favorite pair of boots. They were deep red, slightly worn, and yet they were the most adorable things I had seen. So of course, I had to take a few photos of them. :o)

Photographing Tyson
The last time I saw Tyson was a year ago, and he was crawling along the sidewalk. This time he was swinging a plastic golf club with near-perfect form.
Anyway, my friend Anna asked if I would photograph her son Tyson now that he's 2-yrs old. Tyson is so cute how could I possibly turn-down this opportunity. Megan, Anna's sister, came along for the ride and the sheer entertainment of watching us run-after Tyson. Actually, she played a big part in getting Tyson to smile and laugh. We did most of the photoshoot in the backyard just before dusk. The photos came out great. I showed Tyson some of the photos on my camera's display and he approved whole-heartedly. Thanks Tyson!

Meshach & Josh Engagement Photos
Since Meshach and Josh told us they were camera shy, we decided to take them into the woods for their engagement photo session. Based on the results of the shoot, I think they opened-up quite well. The wedding will take place in the mountains in just a few weeks, and I can't wait.

Fun With Portraits
In an attempt to practice my portrait photography, I asked my friend Susan if I could photograph her. I had only shot a couple portraits outside of photography class, and I soon realized how challenging this could be.
Unlike the models in our photography workshop, Susan had no modeling experience. I was forced to step-away from the camera and really focus on bringing Susan's personality out. Once she felt at-ease, it was smooth sailing. In the end, we both learned a lot about portrait photography, and we had lots of laughs along the way. Thanks, Susan. You look "mahvelous"!
